Board Certified Dermatologist and Reconstructive Surgeon
Dr. Katie Given is a board certified dermatologist specializing in Mohs micrographic surgery, advanced reconstructive techniques, and aesthetic dermatology. Combining elite surgical precision with a passion for medical innovation, she provides comprehensive care that spans from curative skin cancer treatment to cutting-edge cosmetic enhancements.
Dr. Given holds a clinical appointment at UCSF, where she serves as a mentor and instructor to residents and fellows in procedural dermatology and Mohs surgery at the San Francisco VA. Her academic roots are matched by her role as a Key Opinion Leader (KOL), where she advises industry leaders on the development of next-generation cutaneous imaging, injection devices, and advanced cosmeceuticals.
Her training includes Internal Medicine internship at the University of Chicago Hospitals, Dermatology residency at Yale-New Haven Hospitals, where she served as Chief Resident in her final year, and ACGME-accredited Fellowship in Mohs Surgery, reconstructive surgery, and cosmetics at UCSF. While in training, she was awarded a T32 NIH Postdoctoral Fellowship in Clinical Informatics, and worked with a Melanoma Tumor Board Registry, focusing on database quality and validation.
Dr. Given enjoys spending time with her family, often exploring the outdoor beauty the Bay Area has to offer. An FAA-licensed pilot, with commercial, multi engine and instrument ratings, an expert skier, avid golfer, and ballroom dancer, Dr. Given enjoys life in the fast lane.
